Here We Grow, Again!
Since March 1, we have served 27 medically fragile children at the Dream House Family for Keeps® Transition Care Home in Lilburn, Georgia: seven for transition care, and 20 for respite. Wow!!!
Thank you for supporting these children with your donations. The average daily census at the Home is five children, with a capacity of six. The need is great in Georgia. Since March, Dream House has received 80 referrals to this Program, with many children still on the waiting list.
Transition Care Update: of the seven children participating in this program, four who were placed at the Home by their insurance companies have each made a successful hospital-to-home transition. Three foster children are currently transitioning with us as families and homes are prepared for them.
Respite Care Update: grant awards sponsored 102 respite days at the Home for the 20 children participating in this program since March (funding from Cobb County Friendship Club, Exel Inc., Jackson EMC Foundation, and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of GA).
