Way to give

“Every child, perfectly formed or not, deserves a childhood,” is the philosophy by which Dream House volunteer Terry Walls lives.

A retired school teacher, Terry received a Dream House newsletter in the mail shortly after moving to Georgia. She called to see if volunteers were needed to help home-school children living at the Lilburn Transition Care Home. Now many years later, Terry is a vital member of the Dream House Volunteer Brigade. As a Certified Respite Care Provider, Terry also has the distinct honor of being a surrogate grandmother to many Dream House kids.

Each New Year, Terry pulls out a photograph album of “her kids” to celebrate how far they each have come. The progression of their strength and vitality shines through as compared with the haunting images of when she first met them. Get involved with the Dream House mission and influence positive change in a child’s life, like Terry does every day.

The Dream House organization exists today because our supporters have a heart for children in need – specifically medically fragile children. A critical first step for these children (biological, adopted or foster), and their families, is access to the innovative Dream House Family for Keeps™ Transition Care Program.
